The walls of The Talking Stick are vibrant with new art and artists featured every single month. Often there is a reception (opening) as a time to meet the artist and interact more. Art is also available for purchase. If you would like to hang your art, read on! Art hangs for roughly a month. Art is evaluated by our little Talking Stick Art Panel - considerations include the gooditude of the work (in our subjective opinion), how it fits with the coffeehouse in terms of colors, size of the work, and the appropriateness for a coffeehouse with a diverse patronage (i.e. your painting depicting gun violence may be a brilliant commentary on societal ills but if it makes a 4-year old cry we probably won't hang it).
The first step to contacting us is to introduce yourself and submit some digital samples of your work to talksticklive@gmail.com From there, our curator will contact you within a week or two! Art hanging at the Stick is for sale. Price and commission structures are arranged with the house. Art receptions are encouraged. Every FIRST Sunday night of the month we have "Art @ The Stick." Different hosting options are available including having The Talking Stick cater the event with our special catering menu. Above all, thank you for making art! We love art and love to have the community's expression on our walls. | ||
